Creative Crafternoon

INTRODUCTION TO FLAX WEAVING

Join us for the first in our monthly Crafternoon series – this month a three-hour introduction to the art of flax weaving.

This hands-on workshop will cover the tikanga (protocol) of harvesting, an introduction to essential tools and techniques, and the foundational skills of weaving. Under Angelica’s gentle guidance, you’ll learn to create a kono – a small woven flax basket, perfect for holding food or treasures.

Come and connect with the natural fibers, the tradition, and the joy of weaving in a relaxed and supportive space. No experience necessary – just bring your curiosity and an open heart!

Cost $60, includes crafting materials and afternoon tea. Please bring a pair of scizzors if you can.

To ensure the learning is both meaningful and intimate, we limit spaces to 8 per session. Please email hello@zenden.nz to book your spot.
